Quick question about my specific sign's advice for this month (that would be Scorpio, the best sign): when you said to look out for our health and do the oil of oregano and cider - is that apple cider vinegar? Or something else?

Oh whoops, I just looked it up and it is apple cider vinegar but with some other stuff too. OK, I'm in! Just everyone brush your teeth after the apple cider because it eroded mine way back when.

Jane, it’s funny that you say that because I am actually dealing with teeth erosion right now. I have an appointment on the 17th and I have a feeling I’m gonna need extensive dental work. Not looking forward to it lol. What I meant, was you’re going through a transit where your a little bit more inclined to fall ill. So it’s good to do anything preventative that you would normally do when people around you might be sick that looks different for different people… don’t be afraid to have a little bit extra rest this month and say no if things feel draining.

I'm so sorry about your teeth erosion thing. I went through that maybe seven years ago and I did learn that apple cider vinegar will do that. I was having apple cider vinegar every night and often going to sleep with that even on my teeth not realizing the damage it was doing. I still use it though my dentist would prefer that I don't, but I brush right after now. I wonder what yours is caused by. There may have been other factors involved with mine also. But that's one I definitely pinpointed.

Also: teeth are such a vulnerable area psychologically for everyone I think. When they first did the work on mine and they thought that they looked great, I looked in the mirror and burst out crying and couldn't stop crying for hours just because they were different. You know this, but be very kind to yourself through this.

Oh my gosh, I love that you’re saying this. I’ve been thinking a lot about my teeth and the symbolism of them falling apart while so many things in our world are also being dismantled. It’s been a hard year. Many friendships have ended. I feel like I am pretty alone and lacking the support that I need. And while I know, I am an astrologer and things will get better, it’s just such a metaphor for my life right now! It’s also interesting because I was having some other health issues and my gut said to check the Chinese medicine chart to see if my teeth correlated to the particular areas that were having issues. I’ve mentioned in a previous article that I lost my sister a few years ago, and she was in school for Chinese medicine at the time. It felt like a tug from the universe from her. Guess what? The tooth that is having the issue is directly correlated to the two areas on the body in Chinese medicine that I am also having issues with. Never underestimate your teeth. It pisses me off so much that we don’t have good dental insurance in this country. One of my sisters is pretty well off. Her husband is partner in his law firm and they don’t even have dental insurance because it’s kind of a rip off. I could talk about this forever. The likely candidate for my tooth erosion was probably depression and not taking care of my teeth over the years the way that I should mixed wjth a ginger ale addiction! I will let you guys know how it goes. I’m really scared to face a fear of going to the dentist, but I am trying to be positive because at least there’s nitrous oxide…

Oh, you poor sweetie. Yes, yes, yes to the nitrous oxide. I have a strange thing with dentists where I enjoy going because I like just lying there and not having anything else I can or should do. But I've been to some shitty dentist who were too aggressive and so now I have to know I'm going to someone I really trust.

Also, the whole Dental insurance thing - what a nightmare. I did all my stuff without dental insurance also. I think the only time I had it were when I was employed by big companies that gave it to me.

And that's fascinating about the correlation between the teeth and the other body parts.

Last thing I'll say is that I have a major tendency to neglect health things also so I really understand letting that happen to your teeth. And really last thing is – you'll be OK.

I was literally going to ask if you (Bee) were in contact with anyone from this time in the residential... And you answered for me. What karma!

Amazing story and it reminded me of Ottessa Mosfegh's work, particularly Eileen. Have you read it?

Bee's avatar

No, I’m going to check this out! I imagine it a lot like orange is the new black but children.

Susan Earlam's avatar

Caveat - it might be triggering. I'd check out some reviews first, but the setting (v 12th house), the manipulation, the questionable adults. And the interior life/vulnerability of the protagonist. 🫂🫂🫂

Anything with any kind of warning on it equals I'm in and want to see. I think I'll check this out too, thank you!

Bee's avatar

Thank you so much for the recommendation. I will check this out.

This is amazing, you’re like my hero! (Slight sidenote but my horoscopes are incredibly spot on) But man, if I ever met that maintenance worker, it would be on sight!

Jane Pratt's avatar

I love it and I'm right there with you! And I'm so glad your horoscopes are spot on – what sign?

I'm just curious. And mine are too.

PandiFackler's avatar

I’m a Gemini Sun, Leo rising and both of those entries really struck a chord for me

Jane Pratt's avatar

Fantastic. I'm so glad to hear it. Bee has been so accurate every month for me (Scorpio sun and rising) with some wildly specific details too.

Bee's avatar

Tara, you are my freaking hero. He has been a nightmare for my ptsd. The things he has said about women to me have been so wildly inappropriate and dumb. I am very concerned for Gen Z.

What I love about this is you come for your horoscope thinking it's going to be like all other horoscopes

Instead, you get so much more, because of course you do, because this is Jane's Substack & all of her contributors are otherwordly awesome

So sweet and so true!

Thank you! Each month I share an adventure from my very weird life along with the horoscopes. 🥰

And now I regret I can no longer throw a bloody tampon at someone who deserves it. Amazing story! Side note: I’m a Sagittarius but historically all my best girlfriends are Aries.

Jane Pratt's avatar

Ha ha ha, I adore this comment! But I didn't see where it said that we specifically CANNOT throw a bloody tampon at someone. If so, I may have just made a little Astrological error…

Bee's avatar

You may not be able to throw a bloody tampon at someone this month but if you could…. Top 3 list…go…

(Just kidding)

Jane Pratt's avatar

Oh, I love this game! (Even though I know you were just kidding.) My first target has the initials DJT. Give me a sec for the other two and I would love for others to list theirs here too

Laura LeBleu's avatar

At this point in my life, I could easily spend an entire week throwing bloody tampons at people! Only problem is that I need to outsource the blood. 🩸 I don’t know. Maybe dip them in vodka and light them on fire instead?

I'm so sorry that you went through this, Bee, but I'm so proud of you for getting through it, standing up for yourself, and becoming the amazing woman you are today! 💖
